I am a self-taught mosaic artist. I am a regular exhibitor at The Fountain Gallery in Hampton Court and I am a member of the British Association of Modern Mosaic.
My work is influenced by the natural world. I view it as a series of continuous curved lines producing intricate colourful shapes which I then translate into abstract images made using a variety of material in vibrant colours.
I love to challenge myself with new ideas and projects. The process of focusing on creating concrete structures has taken me into the current direction. I have started working more and more with pieces where concrete and mosaic work together to create abstract landscapes, and quirky and interesting shapes, all inspired by the colours of the Mediterranean. My art is the expression of my creativity and spontaneity, of my desire to be challenged but also of my inner disposition to be methodical, logical and focused.
Mosaic making is often underestimated in the world of art and I have made it my mission to prove that it is indeed ART. The use of tiles, pebbles and other material are simply type of media used to create wonderful work the inspiration of which derives from the world around us. I paint or sculpt using mosaic as a painter uses oil as its medium.
I have undertaken a variety of commissions; from garden sculptures and mosaic floor to the design and creation of wedding favours in the shape of coasters.
I exhibited at The Country Living Fair, Roy’s Art Fair at the Bargehouse, Oxo Tower in London, Fountain Gallery, Hampton Court where I now exhibit every year
