I was born in Lancashire and moved to London in my twenties. I have always enjoyed art and started sculpting when my children were very young. I then took a long break to help my husband build up a successful publishing business and, when we sold the company in 2008, I decided to return to the world of art.
I began stone carving again and started lessons in drawing and painting. Then I spent two years studying part-time on an art foundation course at the HGS Institute which gave me the experience of working in a variety of disciplines including drawing, painting, sculpture, ceramics, glass, printmaking and calligraphy.
Having completed this course, I realised that the two subjects I enjoyed most were sculpture and fused glass. I now have my own studio at home in Hampstead Garden Suburb where I work in fused glass. I am also continuing with my sculpture and recently started silk painting.
