My interest in printmaking really started after I graduated, late in life, from Central St Martins with a BA in Textile Design when I was 62 years old – I am now 74!! As a printmaker, texture, pattern and colour play a large part in my practice. I use a variety of techniques, including screen printing, etching (which is quite new to me),linocut, woodcut, monotype and digital printmaking. Sometimes I combine techniques to further create individual and original art prints and to satisfy my love of experimentation.
I am also a keen amateur photographer and my photos very much influence my work and subsequent design development. The unique aspect of my printmaking is that it is intuitive. I often start with no clear endpoint in mind but by following ideas, I am frequently led to results that are even, hopefully more exciting than expected.
