Valerie Cowan has been a Suburb resident for almost 50 years.
Always interested in painting, Valerie took art up more seriously after she retired from 25 years at Marks & Spencer’s Head Office.

Valerie joined the Finchley Art Society about ten years ago and developed a detailed style in acrylic that encompasses animals, pet portraits, house portraits, and a wide variety of other subjects. Valerie also makes cards, which incorporate small paintings and she sells them for charity.
Valerie won the Finchley Art Society Painting Challenge (14 June 2017).
Valerie has many other interests as well as art, including singing, running HGS U3A Wine Appreciation Group, mah jong, theatre, cruising, dining out and generally having fun with friends and family. Retired? Definitely not!!
