18 Sep 2023 HGS ART Spring Art Fair
We held our fifth Art Fair at Fellowship House on 20th and 21st May. This was the first time the fair was presided over by Valerie Cowan who took over from the founding chair Diana Brahams during 2022. The weather stayed dry and warm and several hundred people from the Suburb and further afield came to browse (and in many cases to buy) the art and crafts exhibited by more than twenty local artists. At one of the outdoor tables local art teacher Vera Moore held art sessions for children.
This year, Finchley Women’s Institute took over the catering role and provided delicious home-made cakes and hand-made sandwiches as well as tea coffee and soft drinks. The funds they raised will go to their nominated charities for 2023-2024, namely Grief Encounter (which supports bereaved children and young people) and Barnet Age UK.
