I have been involved in making art through drawing and painting for many years but more recently turned to ceramics as a way of exploring my passion for colour through useful, practical objects. I set up a studio in lockdown and have been throwing, dipping and experimenting with the beautiful effects of glazing and the magic alchemy that happens in the kiln. The artists that inspire my ceramics would be colourists like Rothko, Yves Klein, Matisse. Blue is a colour that fascinates me. It has a powerful influence on how I feel whether in nature or art and I am constantly intrigued by its power and effect.
I am also an integrative psychotherapist using the arts where appropriate in my work. I have a Foundation in Fine Art from Chelsea School of Art and paint portraits, flowers and the domestic landscape.
