I have always been fascinated by texture, pattern and colour. This interest drew me to study Textile Design as a mature student at Central St Martins Art College where I obtained a BA (Hons). As a printmaker, texture, pattern and colour continue to play a large part in my practice. I use a variety of techniques, including screen printing, linocut, etching (which is quite new to me), linocut, woodcut, monotype and digital printmaking. Sometimes I combine techniques to create unique and original art prints and to satisfy my love of experimentation. I am also a keen Amateur Photographer and my photos very much influence my work and subsequent design development. The unique aspect of my printmaking is that it is intuitive. I often start with no clear endpoint in mind. By following ideas, I am frequently led to results that are even more exciting than expected.
